My PhD program aims to develop and apply spatio-temporal statistical models of Secondary Organic Aerosols (SOAs) in South East Queensland. SOAs account for a significant amount of aerosols in the urban atmosphere and have effects on atmospheric conditions and human health. Over the period of the past twenty years, particle number and size distribution, criteria pollutant concentrations, meteorology and traffic patterns were collected by my colleagues at the International Laboratory for Air Quality and Health (Queensland University of Technology). This database provides a tremendous opportunity to investigate spatio-temporal trends in SOA concentration.
